We had a fun day yesterday walking around downtown Philly for 7 or so hours in the high heat and intense humidity. Better than the day before though, at least there was a breeze today, and it didn't bother us too much cause we are just happy being together. We stopped in a cool bakery with organic goods called Le Pain Quotidien, found Arcadia Boutique, a small shop that sells some eco-fashion brands like Stewart+Brown, Mat & Natt and Curator, bought some coconut water to replenish our electrolytes at Food & Friends market, sat on old church steps, walked down a cute cobblestone alleyway where we found really old charming houses and enjoyed a lovely dinner at Garces Trading Co. where we had this mouthwatering "organic" salmon and fresh greens, and enjoyed their olive oil and balsamic vinegar bar (our favorite was the grassy organic olive oil from California). We accidentally found Old City Hall, The Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall and the Federal Reserve before heading back through Chinatown toward our hotel where we were happy to feel air conditioning again. We spent the rest of the evening downloading, analyzing and laughing at our photos while we painting our toes in bed and ate snacks. Here are some of the photos of our day together.
Have you been to Philly? Any suggestions of what to see, do or really great places to eat (other than cheesesteaks)?
