My Summer Smoothie Shakedown Plan :: Lose Weight, Detox, Clear Skin, Mental Clarity, Energy


It's the first weekend of summer which means detox is on my mind.  Whenever another season rolls around I feel the need to cleanse and summer is one of those seasons when I want to shed some pounds.  I have my plan all mapped out and I know exactly where to get my supplies, in fact most of them just arrived on my doorstep today from Unikey Health.  I'm going to be following the Smoothie Shakedown Plan from Unikey Health which includes the Fat Flush Kit.  I've used the Fat Flush Plan and Kit many times and it never fails, works like a charm every time.  I don't have the time, energy or patience to count calories or add up points, which is one of the things I like about this plan.  It's easy and straightforward.  It may not be easy at first to cut so many things out of the diet, but it does get easier. The key is actually following it.  I'm totally convinced that if followed correctly and consistently there's absolutely no way a person won't lose weight on this.  I personally dropped 4 sizes on the plan about 5 years ago and last year I put my mother-in-law and father-in-law on it and they safely lost 20 pounds each in 30 days.  This time around I'm looking to drop a size or two, fit more comfortably into my clothes and have a lot more energy and mental clarity.  You know what else happens when I follow this plan?  My skin gets very, very clear and my pores tighten too!

Here's the breakdown of my personal Smoothie Shakedown Plan:

Upon rising: Drink 8 ounces of water with 1-2 teaspoons of ground Psyllium Husks Powder (drink very quickly otherwise this will turn to gel which is nasty), chase with another 8 ounces of pure water. 

Before breakfast: 8 ounces of hot water with the juice from half organic lemon (gets your intestinal system moving and detoxes the liver). 

Breakfast: Smoothie with 1/2 cup frozen fruit or raw veggies, 1 c. cranwater, 1 Tablespoon flaxseed oil.  Fat Flush Kit supplements.

Morning Snack: Fresh veggies, 1 hardboiled organic egg, 1 organic Granny Smith apple, Dr. Schulze SuperFood Plus powder in 20 ounces of water, or raw almonds (choose 1)

Lunch: Smoothie with 1/2 cup frozen fruit or raw veggies, 1 c. cranwater, 1 Tablespoon flaxseed oil, handful or two of fresh organic spinach.  Fat Flush Kit supplements.

Afternoon Snack: Fresh veggies, 1 hardboiled organic egg, 1 organic Granny Smith apple, Dr. Schulze SuperFood Plus powder in 20 ounces of water or raw almonds. 

Dinner: Lean protein, steamed veggies, big leafy green salad (dressing: flaxseed oil, organic apple cider vinegar and lemon juice) and Fat Flush Kit supplements. 

Before bed: Drink 8 ounces of water with 1-2 teaspoons of Psyllium Husks Powder (drink very quickly otherwise this will turn to gel which is nasty), chase with another 8 ounces of plain water and (1) Intestinal Formula capsule. 

Good To Know:


*It's very important to eat every 3-4 hours so you are constantly feeding your body nutrients and so you don't lose steam.

*Eat no more than 2 fresh, low sugar fruit servings per day (on the allowed fruit list). No dried or canned fruit.

*Consume 2 Tablespoons of Organic High Lignan Flaxseed Oil (my favorite is Barleans) per day to get your good daily fat intake. This also helps melt body fat (brown adipose tissue - aka cellulite). 

*Throughout the day/night, drink 64 ounces of cranwater (I plan to use my glass water bottle from LifeFactory).  Cranwater is 1 ounce 100% unsweetened cranberry juice (no sugar) to 7 ounces water.  I can only find Knudsen's brand near me but if I were near a Trader Joe's I'd buy theirs as it's much cheaper.

*Unlimited veggies are allowed.  Mix it up.  Try weird ones.

*Keep things interesting.  Make different meals and different types of smoothies so you and your taste buds don't get bored.

*No whites: no flour, no sugar (except in allowed fruit & SteviaPlus), no dairy.

*I plan to incorporate Kris Carr's Make Juice Not War and Green Smoothie recipes from her Crazy Sexy Diet book into this regimen.

*The strictest part of the plan lasts 2 weeks and then on the third week you begin adding healthy grains like my beloved sprouted grain Ezekial bread and Mary's Gone Crackers, or brown rice, quinoa, etc.

*I'll also be jumping on my ReboundAir for 20-30 minutes per day to help detox my lymphatic system and bounce off the muffintop and jiggles.  Yes, it works. This is a genius invention.  After 2 weeks, I'll add Pilates.
