Q: I'm ditching my current body wash (OleHenriksen on the go) as I don't want one with polysorbate 20, phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin and fragrance in it. Can you recommend one that does not smell like rose or lavender? Blissoma sent me your way. THANKS!
A: First, woot! Good for you for making healthy changes. Second, why yes I do have some recommendations for you. Seven to be exact. And most of them are cheaper than your current body wash. Score! Let's get right to them, shall we?
1). Zum Wash from Indigo Wild $13.50 for 8 oz
My favorites are lemongrass and grapefruit and I think these are a perfect choice for Spring + Summer. They work great, suds well and infused my shower with citrusy sunshine.
2). Trillium Organics Body Soap $
Trillium is in transition with labeling right now so they are trying to sell the stock they have on hand with the old labels, which is why you can't chose the aroma at the moment unfortunately, but their scents don't include rose or lavender (except lavender geranium, which smells more like geranium - less like lavender) so if you're willing to chance it and try whatever they send you to save some money - do check them out. Their body wash is great.
3). Bubble & Bee Organic Shower Gel $11.99 for 8 oz.
Check out Squeezed Lime which is quite remniscent of a mojito. Or if you're more of a mimosa kinda girl, go for Fresh Orange (smells just like orange juice). They are both wonderful and highly concentrated so you'll definitely get your monies worth.
4). BECAUSE Purifying Body Cleanser $32 for 6.8 oz.
This does not have much of a scent but if you're looking for a body wash to clear a blemished back, this will likely do the trick. At least it did for me. This is my favorite of their three body washes.
5). Skin & Bones Luxurious Body Liquid Cleanser $40 for 6.7 oz
This has more of a perfumed aroma compared to the others listed here, which I like. It has little black jojoba beads that assist with exfoliation and it foams nicely. The only one of the bunch that comes in a glass bottle.
6). Weleda Pomegranate or Calendula Body Wash $18 for 7.2 fl oz
A nice creamy wash with a subtle and pleasant fragrance. You'll get a good amount of foam if you use a loofah. You can buy this at Target which makes it pretty convenient to find.
7). Dr. Bronner's Lemongrass Lime Body Wash $14.99 for 24 fl. oz
Dr. Bronner's original liquid soap is great for most but it sometimes is a little too drying for dry skin so their Skikakai Lemongrass Lime Body Soap is a nice alternative with a fresh and clean aroma.
