Sprout Wellness :: Simple + Effective Hand-Crafted Organic Skin Care Review

Whether you have sensitive, acenic skin or just like your skin care products to have very short ingredient lists, definitely check out Sprout Wellness!  This new line of totally affordable, handmade, organic skin care is made by someone who is allergic to everything and who also works full time at the infamous raw food restaurant in NYC, One Lucky Duck.  Adina Grigore is Sprout Wellness founder and formulator, and she decided to get back to the basics with what she uses on her skin.  Her lines proves that we don't need a mile long ingredient list to effectively cleanse, tone, exfoliate and moisturize our skin.  Its also refreshing to see such affordable prices because I know we're all trying to stretch our dollar these days!

My Review

I used all the products below for 2 weeks:

Face Cleanser ($12): A liquid consistency, totally clear in color. I can see where this may take some getting used to for many because it doesn't look or feel like a typical cleanser.  It doesn't foam and it doesn't feel like it rinses off completely - though for dry skin sufferers, this may be a pleasant surprise.  I definitely recommend using the toner with it.  My skin felt good after using because I deal with dryness.  Despite its atypical characteristics, it did indeed leave my skin feeling soft.

Ingredients: Organic Rosewater, Vegetable Glycerin and Tea Tree Essential oil.

Face Toner ($12): Refreshing and simple, the combo of the cleanser and this toner creates baby-soft skin.  I apply this with a cotton ball.  I also mix a little of this (1/2 teaspoon) with the All-Over cream before applying it to my face.

Ingredients: Organic witch hazel (without alcohol), Filtered water, Sandalwood and Clary sage essential oils.

Face Exfoliant ($10): Since the Face Cleanser by itself doesn't provide any exfoliating action, I've been using this at night when I feel the need to wash off my day.  This leaves my skin super soft and a nice bonus - it banishes blemishes too!

Ingredients: Dead sea salt, Organic Oat Flour and Organic Almond Meal.

All-Over Cream ($19): Just like the name says, you can use this all over your body.  Face, feet, knees, elbows, cuticles and more. The consistency is like a soft or whipped balm, so I was a bit hesitant to use it on my face at first.  So I mixed just a tiny bit with toner in my hands and gently massaged into my skin.  The result was NOT what I expected.  Its not greasy at all when you use only the tiniest amount, but its enough to complete moisturize my entire face and neck.  Again, the effect is oh-so-baby-soft, fresh feeling skin.  I tried both the Original and Citrus version and my preference is most definitely the citrus version, however if you have a citrus allergy or sensitivity, the Original version may be a good option for you.

Ingredients: Wildcrafted and fair-trade shea butter, Organic extra-virgin coconut oil and Organic extra-virgin olive oil.

Lip Balm ($4): A really GREAT lip balm!  I tried Cocoa, Peppermint and Cinnamon.  My hands-down fave is Cinnamon.  Cocoa is the most plain (mild smell and taste), Peppermint is nice, but Cinnamon is so not typical and every time I lean in to kiss my husband and he's wearing it, I ask "have you been drinking Chai?!"  He has to keep reminding me that its the Cinnamon lip balm that he has now claimed as his own.

Ingredients: Organic cocoa butter, Organic extra-virgin coconut oil, Local beeswax or Candelilla wax
