Just in time for Valentines Day and in response to great demand, Bubble & Bee Organic launched their totally organic body butter yesterday in two varieties; Raspberry + Vanilla and Unscented. If you're not already familiar with this company, I suggest keeping them on your radar as they may just be on their way to becoming the organic answer to the ever-popular other "bee" brand with their fun image + lower price points. The products are thoroughly pure and Co-founder Stephanie Greenwood is an avid researcher and I appreciate her strict approach to ingredients. Whole Foods Market is already carrying their products in 21 stores with plans to expand into 8 more within the next couple months. Bubble & Bee also plans to open their own brick-and-mortar store in Salt Lake City this June.
We wrote about their deodorant back in June, Chai Guy Lotion Stick in November and their Root Beer lip balm made an appearance in our holiday stocking stuffer guide; and their Peppermint Lip Balm is the closest organic replacement to my beloved yellow tube I've found yet. New product launches are expected throughout year, such as organic face wash, creams and makeup.
And for those of you who rely heavily on the EWG Skin Deep Database, you may be interested in their very good article about how to sensibly navigate through it. Soon they'll launch their Chemical Of The Day Blog, in which Stephanie will highlight one chemical per day, what products it's in, why it's used, and why to avoid it. There will be some surprises too, a few chemicals that rate a "0" risk on http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ but rank a "7" with her! In the meantime, you may be interested in perusing her Chemical Database.
