I'm so excited to be continuing this multi-part series, sharing beauty secrets that work and don't require a second mortgage. My tips from Part 1 were (unintentionally) geared toward those with normal to oily skin and so, this post will be more for those of you with mature or drier skin. Let's jump right into Part 2, shall we?
Tip #7: Open Up That Honey Jar
Raw, organic and unfiltered honey is the perfect compliment to any beauty regimen. It's anti-microbial, antioxidant and hydrating properties make it the perfect facial mask. Great for troubled skin to dry skin, this simple sweet treat from bees will leave your face feeling soft and hydrated. Added bonus: It's the sweetest mask you'll ever find!
To make a facial mask with honey, you can just apply it as is and let is set for 15 minutes, or you can pair it with a whipped egg or olive oil for a super moisturizing mask. Some people even use fruit or cucumbers on top of the mask. You can really get creative with this one, but the most important ingredient is good quality honey. YS Organic Bee Farms sells their honey at $6 for an 8 oz. jar, and that is definitely a bargain for any facial mask and it's one of the highest qualities of honey that you can find.
Tip #8: Go Bar Hopping
I'm really in a bar soap phase right now. I have some favorites which I'll share with you later, but there is one in particular that has been known to double as a great face wash. Vermont Soap Organics sells certified organic bar soap that is handmade and facial care quality. We've heard that their Oatmeal Lavender bar soap is a perfect moisturizing face wash for dry skin. Their website could definitely use some updating, but as far as their product goes, they are made from pure ingredients and are said to be very effective. Each bar sells for $3.99, and they have a ton of scents to choose from.
Tip #9: Start Badgering Dry Skin
Get a .75 oz. tin of USDA certified organic Evolving Balm from Badger for $7.50 and use a very tiny amount anywhere you have a dry patch. A little goes a very long way!
That's all for today - I will be back very soon with a tip you won't want to miss. See you soon...
