Out of the big box retailers Target seems to be putting forth the most effort. From their inticing commercials, to their affordable Rogan Gregory eco-fashion, to the (few) recent "natural" beauty additions and now a Green model store ...though definitely not perfect, they are keeping up with the times and trying to give consumers what they want. I took a stroll down the beauty aisle recently and found some gems:
Eco Tools Makeup Brush Kit for $10.99:
These Taklon brushes are completely soft and makeup just glides on with them (I couldn't resist picking these up for myself because they've received rave reviews from natural to conventional beauties alike). And I'm loving the long bamboo handles! In the 6 piece brush set you'll get a blush brush, eye shading brush, eyeliner brush, concealer brush, lash and brow groomer and a 55% hemp, 45% cotton cosmetic brush roll to keep all of them in. Plus 1% of annual EcoTools sales is donated to 1% For The Planet. I'm currently using these to apply my latest favorite mineral makeup (free of talc and bismuth oxychloride) that I'll be sharing with you soon. Note: Brushes may be purchased individually as well.
Weleda Skin Food for $16.99:
Use anywhere you need a moisturizing boost whether it be your face, hands or feet. Great to have on hand as we head into Fall and things begin to dry out. Weleda has been around for 87 years, they're pioneers in the natural skincare arena and their products are BDIH certified natural.
Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap for $9.99:
There are absolutely so many uses for this soap that's been around since the 60s. With its quirky anecdotes and declarations all over the bottle and it's pure contents, this brand definitely has a cult following. We've used this on everything from our bodies, pets and laundry to making homemade all-purpose household cleaner. This is definitely something we both have on hand and under our sinks. Very concentrated so it last a long time.

So thrilled that Target is on board. I was loving the Method, Seventh Generation, Mrs. Meyers, the bamboo sheets and even the eco-baby lines like CA Baby and Natural Baby diapers and baby oil. Then they went and brought Weleda and Bronners to the store! In an age of trying to shop in one place to conserve energy, I am thrilled I can do so without sacrificing the brands I believe in. Just wish they'd bring in more recycled paper product (what's with the tissue and toilet paper)?
